Kikunoi Mugesamboh

A must try for seasonal cuisine, their lunch bento is beautiful and delicious. It's my second time going and I do not regret it. It's a bit of an uphill walk there but the amazing food is like the reward at the end.

This is the restaurant under the group of Kikunoi, i went there in late afternoon. This restaurant offers lunch, dessert and dinner. I had dessert last time, which is amazing. I ordered a green tea parfait with ginger castella. The green tea ice cream is rich in taste and the match with ginger caste...lla is perfect. My friend ordered a strawberry parfait, which is filled with many strawberries. They are very generous and offer high quality of food and service. The environment was peaceful as well and we enjoyed the afternoon much there. Highly recommended to go.

It took us 1.5 hrs to get the seat. Luckily there was some propaganda nearby which we went to while waiting. The signature ice cream paffet was really good... and could be very relax if not waiting that long. I deducted 1 mark for this reason. Indeed there was seats there. dont understand wh...y they didn't let people in. Maybe they could not handle too many guests at one time??

Go here for lunch! The food was incredible—its served in the japanese lunch box style and absolutely beautifully presented. Highly recommend for a nice lunch in Gion.

We came here for lunch (it's a much cheaper lunch alternative to the 3 star to the adjoining Kikunoi) and weren't disappointed with the food. However, the service was rushed and they sure did want us out the door before the end of lunch service. That said, do check out their takeaway bakes (inc...luding a very moist and rich yuzu pound cake that travelled really well) and noodle packets.... a fabulous way of bringing a bit of Kyoto home.
