“Good place for beer and small dishes”
First time visiting a New Munchen restaurant. It´s basically modeled after the traditional beer gardens with a huge main hall and lots of tables with little space between them. It can get quite busy and loud. The restaurant were almost full when we arrived but we still only had to wait for about 5 ...minutes for a table. The crowd were all kinds of people from families out dining, to salarymen after hours drinking and young couples on dates. We were the only foreigners there. The staff all spoke basic english and the menus had translations. The restaurant has single counter seats also. We came here because we read that they have great Karaage. It is also mentioned by the restaurant themselves as one of their specialties. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. The karaage is not boneless so they are quite difficult to eat as you get all kind of different pieces and never know where the bones are. They are also served without any sauce, mustard of mayo. The quality of the meat and the cooking was definitely good but the plain style made it kind of well plain. For good Karaage there are definitely better places in Osaka. As for the other dishes the menu is quite extensive with a focus on typical beer house dining. Basically grilled meats, sausages, deep-fry etc. We had a fish dish, a Sapporo style hot plate and steamed buns. They were all good but not amazing. Prices are about 1000-1800yen per dish so relatively fair. Drink menu is extensive with a focus on Japanese beers. We decided to try the house brew and it was a great lager! We did not try any of the desserts.
