Robatayaki Isaribi is a traditional robata yaki izakaya located at a basement in Umeda. It is a restaurant with a marvelous selection of fresh seafood and meat and an open grilled station. If you are seated around the robata grill, then you will feel like entering a seafood n meat lala dreamland. ...You can choose from an incredible selection of fresh meat, seafood and vegetables nestled on ice right in front of you. A mind blowing visual experience. Also one feels like seating in front of a sushi bar and ordering what you want. At Isaribi you can do food pointing instead of food calling😋Once you choose your preferred food, the skilled chef will grill your chosen food at the grill and serve to you on a long wooden paddle. It is a fun and unique way of enjoying grilled food at Isaribi. The restaurant has a chillout and fantastic vibe and is filled with mostly Japanese patrons. Most dishes are around 300 Yen. Also you can either select your food from the counter or order from an English menu. We ordered grilled squid which was perfectly grilled and juicy that we ordered it again. The grilled fish, grilled scallop, buttered potatoes, grilled mushrooms……are all must-order food. We ordered 4 grilled onigiri as an ending dish for the night. But what we did not realize was that each order consists of 2 big onigiri, and the chef kindly double checked with us that we will have a total of 8 big onigiri. So we confirmed that we will have 2 orders instead of 4! Like to point out this cause I am impressed that the chef is very attentive to patrons orders. Recommend to make reservation. For one who likes to experience local authentic atmosphere and fresh food must try when visiting Osaka.

Fresh meat and seafood charcoaled in front of you, then served to you on a paddle. Where else but Isaribi. First come first serve for seating around the robata grill. Fun, loud and smokey atmosphere. Most dishes are 300 Yen. Cheap but good eat. Highly recommend to friends visiting Osaka.

I joined a Japanese colleague for dinner at the Isaribi robatayaki near Osaka Hankyu Station on a Monday night. We could get a reservation for two the night before, even though the reservation system indicated no availabilty. Better to call for a reservation several days in advance, as this is a v...ery popular place. We were seated in front of the glorious selection of fish, meat and vegetables that the chef then moves to the grille as you tell him what you want. It's like being seated at a sushi counter and calling out what you want. Pointing works too! Everything is so fresh and perfectly cooked. We stayed about 2 hours and were politely asked if there were any "last orders" - clearly the restaurant needs to accomodate the customers that have later reservations. Loved it! Price/value equation was also quite positive.

Happened to find this place using TripAdvisor while staying close by. A truly authentic experience with great food cooked right in front of you. They have a menu in English, all you need to do it point to what you want and the chef behind the charcoal grill prepares it. Lots of locals and you may ne...ed to wait to get in but it's worth the wait
