“Beautiful gardens and an unreasonable reservation charge.”
This restaurant is beautiful. It's a wonderful place to go if you are a tourist or to take people new to Japan. The gardens outside and the koi pond inside are immaculate. Most tables will give you a view of one or the other. The food at Ganko also never lets me down. You can't go wrong with their ...tuna sushi set. It comes with various cuts of tuna sushi, tofu, miso soup, rice, and a bowl of tempura. We often add on a few extras if we're having a larger party like Calbee fried potatoes or fried chicken. It is quite satisfying. The one thing that bothers me about this location is the reservation charge. If you choose to make a reservation, they charge 10% of your meal on top of the normal prices. This means you have to decide whether you want to risk going and not getting a seat or paying 10% more. Since I don't live right in the neighborhood, I don't want to go there only to be turned away. It seems a bit extortionate. If they changed this, I wouldn't have a single complaint about the restaurant.

“BEAUTIFUL Restaurant!!”
I, recently, had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant during a business trip, and the experience was TRULY delightful! Although it was late and raining when I arrived, I was able to view some of the grounds surrounding the restaurant, and as you would suspect from a Japanese establishment, ever...ything was impeccably manicured and maintained. Inside, I dined with a party of 8 inside one of the private rooms. We started with sushi and proceeded to have Shabu-Shabu. While not the best food that I've experienced in Japan, it was nice. And, the service we received was EXCELLENT!
