SCALAE

I tried this great restaurant when staying at the Thousand Kyoto, an outstanding hotel separately reviewed. It was only meant to be for a quick bite since i was tired to try and go out. Loved it and arranged to try the degustation menu. the sous chef Y. Masumori made the experience so much better wi...th his enthousiasm and great attention to detail. I ended up becoming friends with all the kitchen staff!!! Wonderful restaurant !!!

My husband and I stayed at The Thousand Hotel (which is great) in Kyoto. First night we were tired and didn’t want to get out for dinner, so we went to Scalae that is in the Hotel. We loved it that we went another night of our stay. I ordered the fish of the day with mozarella and vegetables and was... delicious, also a green salad with a delicious lemon dressing, and my husband order the lamb and was amazing also. The best thing for me was the de dessert: latte panna 😍 Do not doubt it to come here.

I stayed five days in the fantastic thousand hotel, and the first night tired by the trip I and my family tested the italian restaurant Scalae... it was love at first sight. Elegance, sobriety, taste ... all in one word Scalae restaurant in the Thousand Hotel 2 large rooms where to eat, a large cent...ral table where to test new incredibile dishes. Appetizers, main courses, desserts, all is incredibile, managed by chef de Cuisine Masaki Hishida and directed by his junior Yuhei Masumori. Let’s write those names, they will become famous in the future as the Scalae restaurant itself. Thank you for all Michele and his family from Ostuni
