“Totally not a place for a great Kōbe beef steak. ”
*This is from a meat lover who lived in japan for more than 4 years and experienced many Kōbe beef restaurants before* First of all, you can’t pick the quality of meat, for example either a1 a2 a3 and so on, which is essential for kobe beef, so you wouldn’t know what are you paying for with the pri...ce tag. Secondly, the price. Judging from the meat quality I’d say the meat was a2 (or a3 at best, but perhaps not.) But the price you’re paying is definitely a price for the A5 which was disappointing. The dishes: Starter was fine The salad was plain The soup was plain as well The beef was served in a hot plate where you have to cook by yourself, means there’s a chance you could ruin the meat by overcook it. The service was quite professional but I can’t really say it impressed me. Overall GO FIND OTHER PLACE.

“Absolute Treat”
We are in Kobe to join our cruise ship, but we planned to try Kobe Beef before we left home. It is expensive, but I’ve never tasted any steak so tender or flavorful. The staff were absolutely wonderful! It was my daughter’s 13th birthday and they surprised her by presenting her dessert with “Happ...y Birthday!” Written on it in chocolate and had the live musicians play it for her. The manager asked if he could take our photo during the meal and we allowed it. At the end of the evening he presented my daughter with a framed copy of the photo. I have a suggestion for the reviewer that had a communication problem: get a free translator app. It works wonders when you do not expect people in their own country to know your language.

“Great place very friendly staff”
Just had the 5 course wagyu beef meal and it was great the steak starts raw but the hot plate allows you to cook to your desired rarity. Would do again. This place is on the 3rd floor #14

“A delicious experience of Kobe at Kobe! ”
Kobe beef on hot sizzling plate and wagyu beef on the same. You get to cook it more to perfection in front of yourself. Great complement of rice. The kobe beef melted in your mouth. Pretty heavenly. And the starter was very thinly sliced beef mixed with finely sliced onions that delicately prepared ...the palette for an sumptuous kobe and wagyu experience. If you’re looking for value x quantity, this restaurant exceeds expectations. A bit hard to find but def worth it! Close to Kobe station.

“Tasty but slightly disappointing ”
So wanted to end a perfect day with hubby with a special dinner and ended up here based on good reviews. A couple of points, while the actual stake was lovely, there appears to be a breakdown in communications between the menu and staff. The menu was in n English and covered the set menu on offer ...in the evening which has a starter, vegetable soup, salad, your choice of stake which sets the overall price, rice, desert and tea/coffee. Settling down to order, the waiter tells us that the starter and the vegetable soup actually has pork in it (odd for something branded as vegetable soup) so we asked to have the rest of the menu minus the two items. I don't eat rice or desert so I asked them to skip that as well for me (so in effect only stake and salad) with hubby taking the stake, salad, rice and desert. My salad arrives, hubby's doesn't, when asked, the waiter was a bit surprised (maybe thought hubby didn't want the salad if having rice) so 2nd salad arrives. Stake was lovely and you can cook to your liking on a sizzling skillet in front of you. Rice for hubby arrives, shortly followed by the bill!!! When asking about the desert for hubby we're informed that would be extra (???) The bill was itemised per plate (so it seems that if you don't go with set menu, you get charged a le cart) and ended up being the same as set offering. Note sure what was lost where but not wanting to completely destroy the evening by arguing with the restaurant we settled a very expensive bill and left as very un happy customers which is a unique experience in Japan! The rating is purely for the quality of the beef but you can definitely get a better offering and more accommodating service somewhere else!
