“Cheap but Not Delicious”
Torisei Kyoto Tower Sando Store is a yakitori specialist in the basement of a shopping centre in Kyoto. The restaurant is tidy. Servers might not be impolite, but they are not the most welcoming bunch either. Food is cheap, but not quite delicious. The Oyakodon Chicken Rice (JPY 800) is overcook...ed, and different parts of the chicken are chewy and tough, including the Chicken Skin Gyoza (JPY 580), Fried Cartilage (JPY 630), Chicken Skin (JPY 170), Chicken Gizzards (JPY 170), and Minced Chicken (JPY 170). The only recommendable yakitori is the crunchy Chicken Tail (JPY 170). The izakaya is good only for cheap drinks, such as draft beer at JPY 580/glass.
