“My best Japanese culinary experience”
This place is amazing! We found it by chance and it turned out to be the best culinary experience in Japan! Not only the way the food tastes and looks (presentation is incredible), the whole ambience and serving manners make you dive into Japanese food culture. I highly recommend going there when vi...siting Kyoto. We were lucky and got a table without a prior reservation, but we were only 2 people.

“Memorable Japanese set meal”
We unexpectedly happened upon this place while in Nishiki market (the doorway is rather nondescript.) We ordered the 8 course set meal and were able to get in without a reservation since we were early. It was an incredible experience and the quality was similar to NYC’s Le Bernardin restaurant (and ...not so $$$!) It was the best meal we had in Kyoto (the pumpkin dumpling and sashimi were out of this world) and the service was impeccable. Highly recommended.

“Outstanding Kaiseki meal”
Our guide took us to this delightful restaurant so that we could experience a Kyoto kaiseki meal. After entering via a narrow lane way and removing our shoes we headed upstairs in our socks and were seated at a half height table so thankfully chairs to sit on. The meal arrived in a three tier inve...rted pyramid “bento” box, each tier was beautifully presented and the food was wonderful. I even ate and enjoyed the extremely fresh raw tuna. Also enjoyed was the Kyoto craft beer and the cold dry local Sake. A special meal in a non touristy spot.

“The best!”
Amazing service. Delicious kaiseki cuisine. Reasonably priced. Conveniently located near Daimaru and Nishiki Market. Highly recommend if you are in Kyoto.

“Best Kaiseki and cozy dinner experience”
This is an amazingly good place for Kaiseki and a cozy dinner experience. It has a narrow front to Sakaimachi Street so it's easy to walk past without seeing it. It is about half a block south of the Nishiki St. Market. We had Kaiseki at some very good restaurants in Kyoto and this one rates near... the top. Although it is a short distance from Nishiki Arcade, it is not a tourist restaurant.
