If you haven't made it yourself ask for help but beware that when everything is tossed in hot water all together you lose the veggie flavored. Prefer to cook meat- quality was fine- then add others for short time. Good luck! Staff had lots of translation problems but all smiles. Wish we could hav...e video our conversations with staff. Why is water so hard to get-ha!

I went to two different Kisoji in Osaka in the last two weeks. The first one near the Sharaton and the second one near the Hilton. We had Shabu-Shabu the first time and Sukiyaki the second time. The price for the set was more or less the same. And both were delightful. The one in Kita-ku (near ...the Hilton) is a little bit more up-scale. We were given a semi-private room. In both restaurants, we ordered the middle of the range beef, and I find that it is sufficiently good. The 'higher' quality beef has a lot more marble (a.k.a. fat). Sometimes I just prefer more meaty taste. Don't really want to spend much time on describing shabu-shabu and sukiyaki. And BOTH were yummy. If you have never tried it, do try!!! Next time I go back, I will probably go for sukiyaki. It's just my preference.
