Best curry ever! Amazing vegetarian options too. Friendly with lots of helpful advice and recommendations. I recommend the tomato based curries - heavenly!

This is a right of passage for people who work at Universal Studios. On your first trip to Osaka, this is the welcome dinner. The food is amazing. Fish tikka is outstanding. There are so many good dishes. The neighborhood market it is in, is so much fun to explore. Whenever someone from work says th...ey were in Osaka, the first thing I ask is “did you go to Kantipur”. The next ten minutes are spent talking about this place.

Tasty food but very unfriendly and dirty old place not renovated Se got leftover legs of shrimp inside out curry and when complained the wipe us off as they busy and really don’t care. Unfriendly to foreigners !

The food is always amazing here. They have some excellent lunch specials. The special lunch set is a winner with naan and curry and a piece of ya dork chicken and a piece of tandoori fish. The can tailor the heat to your liking as well. The staff are friendly and this is now a regular spot for weekd...ay lunches for us!

We thought that we'd be able to meet up with an American friend while we were visiting Osaka, and he was doing business there. Unfortunately, his meeting in Japan was postponed, but he said we still had to visit Kantipur, because it had some of the most amazing food he'd ever had. Between our taxi... driver's GPS and our Google maps, we were able to find it, but it's tucked away off a little shopping street somewhere near downtown Osaka. Judging by the constant stream of customers walking in at lunchtime, we knew it had to be good. And it didn't disappoint! Our friend had recommended the fish tikka, and somehow we managed to point and speak enough Japanese and our waiter enough English to also order a couple of the lunch specials, both some amazing and spicy (in a good way!) curries. We also had some naan that we watched being made and came out steaming hot... SO delicious! The restaurant was small, but very comfortable. The staff were all kind, helpful and very welcoming. The food - amazing! Little out of the way kinds of family-run restaurants like these are my favorites because making sure the customer has an excellent dining experience is important to the owners. This absolutely didn't disappoint and I would figure out how to get there again if we ever return to Osaka!
