“Affordable grilled seafood and sashimi”
Reasonably priced seafood. Try the specialties like the grilled miso crab. Utterly delectable. Sashimi was also affordable and fresh. English menu available. Arrive early to avoid queuing.

“Family Dinner @ Namba”
Wrapped up our 2nd nite in Osaka wit Izakaya dinner at Isomaru Suisan Namba-Midosuji. We actually wanted to go to Okonomiyaki Sakaba but the Q was too long, but we were very pleased with a Izakaya meal instead. We were not disappointed with our choice of scallops, squid, sashimi, eggplant, saba, pic...kled cucumbers and garlic fried rice were the perfect combination. Absolutely satisfying and the price was more than reasonable in our opinion. Highly recommended.

“Isomaru Suisan is a good introduction to izakayas”
Isomaru Suisan is a good introduction to izakayas for foreigners such as myself. There is a large selection available on an easy-to-use English menus on a tablet so you won't encounter too many problems ordering (except maybe deciding what to eat). There are even pictures which we found helpful in c...ases where the English was poorly translated. Service, unfortunately, was a bit lacking, perhaps due to a language barrier but other than seating us, we found servers reluctant to provide any assistance even when it pertains to how to cook certain items (e.g. the kani miso). Luckily, there weren't too many instances where that occurred as most things were self-explanatory. Seafood is the main focus there and you'll find many options to try from. They all seem quite fresh - the clams in some of the clams in sake actually had small pearls inside, which I found quite neat! - but considering you're in Japan, quite average. However, the star of the show was the kani miso and the sea grapes. Crab tomalley/innards may not sound appealing but you'll forget all about it when you taste the creamy texture of kani miso. It doesn't have the bitter(?) aftertaste of plain tomalley, just the sweet crab taste. I recommend having it with the sea grapes, which I haven't seen anywhere else. I think they're referred to as the vegan caviar but the popping sensation of the sea grapes juxtaposed with the creaminess of the kani miso is really something to be experienced! I cannot (and will not) stop raving about it. If you're a bit nervous about trying izakayas for the first time, I definitely recommend going to Isomaru Suisan (and ordering their kani miso and sea grapes).

“Average izakaya”
Food are ok, service are slow. Average price. If you dont like cigarettes then this place is not for you as this place dont have non smoking area. There are other izakaya or resto in namba area that you can try which might be better and cheaper with authentic taste of sushi and sashimi’s.

“Omg the grilled fatty salmon”
Ok, so I have been looking for grilled salmon belly in Japan on our last 3 trips. And I was so excited to finally find it. It was way better than at home and the portion was huge. They also have excellent sashimi here. I really enjoyed the salmon and scallop sashimi. And we had some fun highball dri...nks as well. We didn’t order anything on the grill but we saw things that others were having in the restaurant and it looked fun and yummy. Next time I would try even more!
