Angelo

Saw this place during the day and liked the look of it, particularly the wine bottles in the distance. Having a rest from marvellous Osaka cuisine, this place was excellent. Authentic, simple, well priced and unpretentious we loved the food and wine. Service, quality and a rewarding experience.

We came across Il Mercato Angelo by chance during our recent travels to Osaka. The service was great, excellent variety of delicious food and wine, and a nice atmosphere. Enjoyed it so much we went back again during our four day stay. Highly recommend it for good Italian food. Family friendly.

After a very shady pizza experience at another restaurant the night before, we were on a mission to find a proper pie in Osaka. Mission Possible! Despite setting out for another restaurant, as recommended by our hotel front desk, we stumbled upon Angelo's, as the other one was closed. Blessing in d...isguise, as I am sure it would have been hard to beat the meal we had at Angelo's. Firstly: Nice staff, both Italian and Japanese. Service was quick, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is rustic and cosy. We sat very close to the kitchen, but still felt part of the restaurant. The food was simply great. My husband had a pizza margarita with added garlic, and I went for a fettuccine with shrimp and sautéed green leafy vegetables. Fresh walnut bread and some cheese croquettes topped off an excellent dinner experience. Japan is generally expensive, but Angelo's was not unreasonably priced. Our meal, with soft drinks, totalled about $70. Had we spent more time in Osaka, I am sure we would have eaten here again.
