SENQCHERE

I was staying at the Daiwa Roynet Hotel and our breakfast venue was in this restaurant. The spread was really good with local Japanese food as well as limited western selection.

When I was just passing through this restaurant in a hotel I noticed a basket lunch of traditional Japanese food presented neatly. It looked so attractive that I was tempted to try this. This meal consist of bonito sashimi, vinegared octopus, cuttlefish with vinegared miso dressing, prawn and pumpki...n tempura, boiled and seasoned yellowtail, smoked Spanish mackerel, steamed chicken, rolled Japanese style omelette, steamed and seasoned spinach, seaweed pickles, leaf mustard pickles, a pickled ume, (Japanese plum), rice sprinkled with Shirasuboshi (dried young sardines), miso soup, tea or coffee and dessert of bracken-starch dumpling - total 17 items. Each dish is well prepared and I enjoyed it though all are not of high quality but more than standard. As the restaurant offer cakes so instead of dupling I ate one similar to Mont Blanc called Mon Tigre. The restaurant offers a beautiful view of Wakayama Castle.
