“traditional shabu shabu at reasonable price”
Made reservation online but the restaurant was quite quiet when we arrived. Local Japanese at the two tables beside us. There is a blind in between the tables which make it a bit private. When we asked, staff point to us to mix the sesame sauce, chilli powder, spring onion, minced ginger although th...ere is a photo on the wall which shows such. This is a traditional shabu shabu restaurant hence the pot contains water to cook the vegetables and meat. The sesame sauce is refined and light (I am more used to a stronger sesame flavour but this matches the meat well). Very reasonable price. The set comes with rice, meat (of your choice with different portion sizes), vegetables and udon. We ordered a beef set and pork set. Overall a very fulfilling meal and we enjoyed it very much.

“Overrated Shabu Shabu”
I came to this place after hearing good reviews from my friends and online. However, I think there are some facts that people may not know even after reading all the review. The ingredients (meat and veggies) is cooked in a pot of plain boiling water, which essentially render the ingredients pretty... tasteless. They do provide a sesame dipping sauce that can be customised with garlic, green onions and chilli flakes. The sesame dipping sauce while fantastic with the ingredients, gets boring and one dimensional after a while. There is not much excitement in terms of taste. The quality of the meat is decently good, but definitely not fantastic. The veggies and mushroom are pretty standard as well, nothing to shout about. The course dinner comes with a plum wine(?) shot which is the most item on the menu. The almond sherbet icecream given at the end was a huge disappointment as well. It does not taste remotely like almond of any sort. Overall, this place is a disappointment given how good the reviews were online. Although you can try shabu shabu at a relatively cheaper price, it is not worth your stomach space given the many options around Shinsaibashi.

“Not suitable for tourists, simply cooking meat and vegetables in plain boiling water.”
Saying that it is tasteless, it’s really an understatement. Simply given a platter of vegetables and meat to cook in boiling PLAIN water does not elevate the taste and takes away the fun of drinking the soup. Waiter said that “this is a traditional Japanese hotpot” thus we do not recommend any t...ourists from Singapore, Taiwan, China, Korea or any countries with flavourful food to try. It’s seriously a waste of money. There is a sesame sauce, just 1 boring sauce to dip for the entire hotpot session. Anyways, refer to the pictures below and sure ask me any questions you have about this tasteless boring hotpot.

“Very nice place for shabu shabu”
This is a very nice restaurant if you want traditional shabu shabu. A large copper boiler in the centre of the table and you select from pork or various grades of beef (all the way up to Kobe wagyu). Also provided is cabbage, enoki, bean curd etc. The sesame sauce is really excellent (especially if ...you add some minced garlic and spring onions from the various pots). Once you have finished the meat course, they drop some very thick, home made udon noodles into the copper boiler and give you a bowl of delicious dipping sauce. Very reasonably priced for Kobe beef (about ¥8000). Slightly slow service, but not really a problem unless you’re in a hurry.
