We truly enjoy our experience in this restaurant ! We had not reservations but they were very accommodating and after waiting 10 min we were sitting in a very nice room with a view of the river. The food was very good, fresh and very tasty. The best sashimi ! Also we had a wonderful salad and hot po...t. The service was fantastic, we had a lovely waiter that spoke very good English and was very sweet and kind. Highly recommended

A wonderful restaurant where everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The sashimi was extraordinary and every a la carte dish we tried was unusual and tasty. The service was gracious and despite our only speaking English, the staff worked hard to make sure we got what we wanted. The only ...downside is that the entrance on Pontocho alley is hard to find since it's largely unmarked--but it's worth the effort!

Thousands of miles away from Hong Kong compare over 20’s restaurants. I thought it was a fine dining dinner, but unfortunately from the second course was not finished. The waiters keep catching up with the dishes, like a Hong Kong food 大排檔or fast food. A group of Japanese uncles talked loudly all ni...ght, which affected the whole environment and appetite atmosphere. Waiters did not stop it. I don't want to give negative comment but suggest you consider it.Fast food feeling pay for over 40,000 yen. Many foods in Kyoto. Not traveler choice

You are paying here chiefly for the excellent location on Ponto-cho, with an establishment overlooking the Kamo River and the yuka (deck) over the river open during the summer months. The kaiseki set menu is average to a bit above average, but the ambience is excellent. We lucked out--it rained the ...day we went--but the interior is quite lovely too.
