“Nothing short of fantastic!”
A steak lovers delight! I’ve been to several wonderful steakhouses in Japan…and this one goes right to the top. The subtle ways they enhanced the taste of a tender piece of meat is an art :-)

“Steak That Melts In Your Mouth”
Dined here on national holiday and a Saturday to boot. Thought for sure we'd have a problem with no reservations, but thankfully, that was not the case. Arrived at 9p, promptly seated with no issues. Staff attentive and English was not a barrier. Chef explained everything as he progressed throug...h preparing our meal. Sirloin was absolutely wonderful, as was everything else. A little "garlicked out" by the end as we ate the crispy grilled garlic in addition to having the garlic rice (but that's obviously on us, not the establishment). Fully spot-on across the board. Lovely ambiance and an easy 15 minute walk from the Himeji train station. Pricey, yes, but worth every bit!

“Delicious wagyu beef.”
We went to Senju on a weekday at 1 PM for Lunch and easily got two seats at the Teppan-Yaki-Plate without a reservation. Friendly, English speaking staff greeted us and the cook explained everything while he cooked our tenderloin and sirloin wagyu steak directly in front of us. The meal was delici...ous, the price fair and the atmosphere good. Would eat lunch there again.

“A wonderful way to round off a trip to Himeji Castle”
I dined here for lunch after visiting Himeji Castle and Koko-en Garden in the morning. Despite being a weekday the restaurant was rather busy for lunch and a prior reservation is essential. I had the Wagyu course for JPY 4,200 although there are a number of options ranging from a hamburger to steak ...and seafood. Lunch is much more affordable than dinner (as is the case with many steak restaurants). The staff were very welcoming and the steak was delicious. It is a short walk from Himeji station so an ideal stopover prior to getting the train towards Hakata/Shin-Osaka.

“Dinner”
We visited senju last night our only evening in Himeji. The meal was amazing, the restaurant was quiet, our server was delightful, spoke very good English, explained everything. We had one seafood meal and one sirloin steak meal, each was cooked perfectly and expertly shared between us. The salads ...and garlic fried rice were equally delicious. The Panna cotta with strawberry sauce was just the right consistency for our English taste. Altogether a wonderful experience, well worth searching for. Cost was £150 with beer and excellent red wine for 2
