Buon grande ARIA

We enjoyed the food so much we went back to this restaurant twice. The pasta was excellent and the lobster stew delicious. The service was a little hit and miss. The quieter of the two nights the service was much more attentive.

We were too tired to venture out far from the hotel and this restaurant looked nice and promising from the outside with seating facing the river. This is probably the only plus and the justification for the star given. First, there were no English menu and no real attempt to translate. They obvious...ly don’t feel the need to cater for tourists who are so ignorant that they can’t read or understand Japanese. Having committed ourselves and sat down to eat, we opted for the national dish of Italy, Spaghetti Bolognese. We thought this would be a safe option. It was awful especially with the chef’s addition of stale, yes stale as in old, crushed walnuts! The starter which we went for was fish carpaccio and to give them credit, it was good. But Japan is the land of fresh raw fish! My wife didn’t immediately use her napkin, and the waitress for some reason took it without asking. We asked for it black. Even though the restaurant wasn’t busy and wasn’t going to get busier judging by the waiters changing the napkins to disposable ones and different cutlery on the remaining tables, they seated us on a small little table for two by the exit door to the patio rather than a table with a view but accommodates 4. Perhaps, this restaurant doesn’t want tourists and therefore I would strongly recommend that you give it a miss. If you want Italian food, go to another country! Stick to Japanese food. It is healthy, delicious and they know how to cook or serve it.

We were lucky enough to visit this restaurant, by chance, in Osaka. It offers a mix of Italian & Japanese cuisine (fusion), with very refined dishes, good quality ingredients, great wines, etc. Atmosphere is very peaceful and romantic, with good service (also in English). For a quite reasonable pric...e.

This restaurant is located by the riverside with a great view, and dining in the terrace is absolutely amazing. I was here for my birthday togehter with my mother and grandmother, and I must say the customer service wasn't as good as I expected, and we were all very disappointed. The waiters were in...experienced, and didn't know how to serve us well. We were the first customers to sit in the terrace, and after ordering, the waiter came up to my mother and said the wierdest thing: "I recommned you to sit on the other side by the window because when the people pass by, you will be on the way. But that's up to you, and you don't have to do it if you don't want to". We were like "uhhhm what? what was the point?" that was unnecessary, and we felt very awkward. There were absolutely no customers sitting around us, and the table was made for 4 people to dine, so doesn't really matter which chair she sits on. Then we were very shocked when the waiter came to us again and asked "What was the thing that you ordered, was it with ---- or ------?". I mean seriously, are you for real? Later, they didn't serve us any drinks, not even water. So my mother had to go up to the waiter and ask for water, and he only brought one glass! I mean, we are 3 people!!! Isn't that a common sense? We felt like being in a regular family restaurant. It is such a shame, because the restaurant has such a nice atmosphere, and a great location.. but the service ruined it all.

I had a very good meal here. The restaurant is located on the riverfront, and I was seated outside for dinner with the heat lamp on full blast. Even though at times it was a bit chilly, the ambience was special. The food was also very good -- fushion-y. There were some dishes that were fantastic, f...or example, the beef cheeks and also the ceviche. The strawberry dessert was also full of yumminess. I think there are quite a few restaurants like this in Osaka, but I felt that the ambience was stellar and put this one on the 'very good' list of places to go to in Osaka.
