L'ARDOISE

The food served is absolutely delicious. It is not only beautifully presented but the combination of tastes and the quality of the products are absolutely amazing. It is wonderful combination of Japanese and European style. Definitely worth the stop. One of my top favorite in Kobe

Came here with a group of work colleagues from our local office. Wonderful French bistro where we enjoyed a number of nicely prepared dishes. Started with a lobster type salad, followed by a wonderful squash type soup and a main beef dish and finished with a pineapple and coconut sorbet dessert. ...Each dish was very nicely prepared and artfully presented! Tasty bread was also served. The place is not large but we had a group of 12 or so. One colleague remarked that this restaurant was chosen because it was "within the budget" which leads me to believe the prices are reasonable given the quality of the food. Very nice place with wonderful food!

We went to L'Ardoise and had the 5000Yen menu. There's also a 7000 and a 9000Yen version which has 1 extra main dish per price increase - when we went the additional dishes were a Crab dish and a vennison dish. In our menu we had lamb as main dish. Overall we received 2 starters (an octopus dish, a ...Foie gras), a soup, a main dish (Lamb) and a desert. Quality of the dishes was very good and presentation was very nice - all was cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and efficient. The wine card proposes almost only French wines - while we understand that for a French restaurant, still there might be some other wines at more moderate prices on the list. Like everywhere in Japan (and in France), tapwater comes free.

I was invited to this restaurant by a colleague and it was a great little gem hidden in Kobe. Everything about it was good. The food was amazing, very French and good value for money too, for this Michelin star restaurant!
