“A visit to the chef's home”
Jo Jo was recommended by out foodie friends who visited 3 times in April and loved it. we were also thrilled as the multi-course creative cuisine was cooked in front of us by Jo Jo. Don't expect elegance or a fancy dining room, as you are literally sitting at a counter overlooking a working ( not fo...r show) kitchen. Each course was excellent and creative. Jo Jo loves and knows wine and the pairings were fun. Also, this is a great value as +/- $100 PP including lots of wine and sake.

“OK restaurant close to station and Kyoto Tower Annex Hotel”
Had roast beef, tempura assortment. Service was OK, Food was average although roast beef was very good. Dimly lit. Restaurant is downstairs and is a little like a pub atmosphere.

“Authentic Japanese meal”
We had a selection from the menu and were impressed with all of the food, which included sushi and tempura. The atmosphere was really relaxed with predominately local diners (there was only one other non-Japanese couple). The service was excellent and very friendly. We ate A LOT and the meal came ou...t at less than AUD120 (including beer for two).

“Lovely izakaya, not standard food”
Like the title says this is a good izakaya near Kyoto station. The food is a little bit different from your standard izakaya which is a nice change. Loved the beef bowl and the black sesame ice is a must try, if only for the black colour. Expect to spend about 3000 a person without drinks. Totally w...orth it though.

“Great food, service and beer!”
Great place to stop in for supper and beer. Ate very fresh sashimi, salad and a beef bowl. The staff are welcoming and speak English.
