Daichi

My wife and I wanted to visit as I wanted to try a Kobe steak, the menu suggested a good range of prices so was hopeful. Then first issue - very pushy waitress pushing a large Very expensive steak. My wife did not want a steak, but wanted to try something else on the menu, but no thats not possib...le - everyone has to have a steak. No option Seriously pushy so we left. Amazing given it was an empty restaurant at the time. Clearly a pushy tourist trap.

We had a lovely meal at Daichi. A really good option of you're looking to try some Kobe beef. The staff were excellent - so friendly and accommodating. We had Hara as our chef - he was very friendly, chit-chatting with us, talking us through what he was cooking (in front of us, tepanyaki-style), and... making recommendations on how to eat the beef (which was absolutely delicious!). Will come back if we're ever back in Kobe!

Me and my family was too eager to try Kobe beef and was preparing ourselves to spend a day at Kobe to fully enjoy the famous beef. We've comes to this restaurant as we have been searching through comments and recommendations and decided to try this restaurant. Were greeted politely by one of the mal...e servants and even given a very thorough explanation of what kind of beef we order and what to expect. Unfortunately, the lady who cooked the meat for us wasn't as polite as... When one of my family member who's pregnant trying to explain to the lady about her request, she didn't even bother to make the beef well done. She even mixed all the type of beef we ordered (while we've ordered separately and according to our own preference) and she shared the beef to all my family member of eight... Without even explaining to us. To maxed everything, she even tried to lie to us about the kind of meat we are eating. We ended up complained and was given a confused explanation and although her fellow colleagues were giving us tons of apologizing statements, she hid herself under the "language barrier" and only nodded several times. The beef? Maybe good... But they got cold as we tried to complain and state our disappointments.

On hols and berthed in Kobe, visited this small restaurant to try the world renowned Kobe beef. The owner was very helpful in explaining the choices as you need to choose which cut as they are all different in taste, his suggestion that we both choose a different one thus allowing us to try 2 of th...e cuts, how right he was we tried the best which is sirloin and a rare cut which was so different. Never enjoyed a steak so much This is an award winning restaurant it looks like a small cafe don’t be put off its really all about the service given and the quality of food.

We placed visit here because we stayed close to motomachi and saw the comments from other Kobe beef lovers about this restaurant from Tripadvisor. We warmly welcomed by a waitress and she thoroughly introduced us the menu, with lovely smile. We picked our choice and a female chef came to serve us.... Surprisingly, she got a long face during cooking with no smile (and even no eye contact) at all. I can tell from the beef that she has good cooking skills but I think she did not do good enough as a teppanyaki chef, who should interactive with guests and play a key role in creating an enjoyable dining experience. Frankly, the price of this restaurant is pretty reasonable. Nevertheless, we expected the service (of the chef) should not be at that level!
