“Nothing special, but price is good”
Had some Gyoza, both garlic and regular. Nothing out the ordinary. Also had spring rolls and stir fried shrimp which below average imho.

“VEGETABLES! ”
We popped into this place for lunch while waiting for the maiko dances to start in the Pontocho Kaburenjo Theater just around the corner. And to us, despite loving Japanese food, we were very happy to eat here because of the big plates of vegetables we ordered. We found vegetables very hard to find ...in Japan. We're not vegetarian, not by a long shot, but after eating rice or ramen for days on end with hardly a vegetable being served we were craving vegetables. Now the restaurant is nothing special, basically Chinese style wokked food, but what they serve is done well, tastes great and had I mentioned yet that we had lots of vegetables! We had a medium and small plate of veg, nine gyōza (grilled dumpling) and a plate of liver with veg and only paid ¥ 1600. Recommended if you crave no fuss veggies.

“Cheap and cheerful”
My wife was DESPERATE to come to this restaurant for nostalgic reasons. She used to come here as a student almost 40 years ago! Food was great. Quickly served. A full blow out with one beer was only 2,353 yen.
