La Pace

Small place with a couple of tables, run by a very friendly couple. We had pizza, tagliatelle with ragù and the wagyu tagliata, was all delicious. The place offers further Italian dishes, deserts, drinks and wines. Not far from Nishiki market.

Delicious food. Attentive service. Bread was fresh, has bread sticks, focaccia, and French bread. We had the capers salad, carbonara, and tagliatelle bolognese. The Montepulciano by the glass was excellent. Close to the frenetic Nushiki Market on a quiet side street. A nice respite from the crazines...s!

We had a great plate of pasta and beer. The owners are lovely and we had the desired break from japanese food during our travels. Would come again anytime!

Found this Italian restaurant by chance when we couldn’t get into Pizzeria Marita just down the road. It was very quiet but the pizzas, pasta and breads were very authentic and delicious. The sea urchin pasta was fantastic. The chef and staff were very friendly too. Loved it - and will return ag...ain when we are next in Gion

We have been here on several occasions and really rate this friendly Italian restaurant. It’s a bit hidden away but look for the camel banner outside. The food is great with a wide range to suit all tastes. In particular we really enjoy the tuna carpaccio direct from the owners home city of Wakay...ama and a ragout of wild boar with homemade pappardelle. Lots of other stuff including pasta and pizza as with plenty of choice for those preferring vegetarian options. The owners are really friendly and speak good English for those of us who are a bit compromised when it comes to speaking Japanese! There is a wide selection of quality wines by the glass, carafe or bottle and beers etc. Overall this is a great place for a great quality, relaxed evening at a price that is great value.
