“Do not go to this restaurant if you don't speak Japanese because they sell you stale left-over food!”
We went to this restaurant because it is situated in a very large high-end shopping mall and the restaurant looked nice and authentic from the outside. Once inside we were given the bench seats right opposite the chef's open fire grill pit so had an excellent view to the whole kitchen operation. We ...had no problem communicating and ordering food with the staff, however, things started going downhill from there.... Firstly one can not help but notice this restaurant has only one cook (no way he's a chef based on the food served!) and one other younger kitchen hand working behind a small partitioned room deep-frying very oily tempuras etc. Sitting directly opposite their kitchen for the two hours of our torture we can't help but notice this only cook does everything from handling raw meat on BBQ skewers as well slicing sushi as well making highball mixes while casually rinsing his hands occasionally. Service was slow as the restaurant has only one cook and apart from cooking duties he even had to answer phones from time to time leaving the grill unattended several times during the time we were there. Our dishes came slowly at first and we can understand it given the cook had to prepare for several tables at the same time however later on when he wasn't busy we couldn't figure out why he hasn't started grilling our last dish - a fish head. We were relieved to see the half fish-head finally appeared on the grill and surprise surprise the cook disappeared behind the partition for over a minute while the fishhead caught in a flame of fire with black smoke and I had to alert the staff of this then the cook reappeared and trying to blow out the flames from the fish-head with his MOUTH! What's more amazing they actually served us the said (sad) fish head as though nothing has happened. The fish head was blacken and charcoaled and couldn't even be cut with a set folk and knife by their own staff! Even more amazingly they still charged us for the fish and when I protested the same staff who had no problem taking our food orders in English all of the sudden can only repeat "I am sorry" and no understand English from that point on... later I checked other food critic sites and saw other foreign tourists complaining of the exact same burnt fish-head experience and forced to pay for a dish not fit for human consumption I realized this restaurant deliberately cook and sell stale ingredients to none-Japanese speaking customers and pretend as just another language misunderstanding. I'm very disgusted by this experience and can only hope this restaurant close down soon!

Staffs were friendly and helpful. Food was good too. Especially the tuna steak and the grilled crab with miso. Must try the fried prawn fritters too.

“Great Find in top floor of Takashimaya department store.”
I love Robatayaki and have not had any good Robatayaki for years. Great grilled dishes of meat, fish and vegetables. Loved the scallop, beef tongue and horse meat. Friendly staff and they apologized that they did not have an English menu but we figured it out.
