Fubitosuro

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner while visiting Kyoto and the food was great! We got one of the courses and it was all delicious. However, the service was a bit awkward. Our waitress would routinely lean over him to place food on the bar, then would walk around to place food on the same spot ...for me. When I returned from the restroom one of the waitresses (not ours) had approached and started a conversation with my boyfriend. I sat back down and she immediately walked away without acknowledging me, so it was pretty apparent that she had taken my absence as an opportunity to talk to him. The conversation wasn’t about food, and she didn’t talk to me at all so she wasn’t just trying to practice English. It was a good time otherwise, but I honestly wouldn’t go back because I felt it was unprofessional and disrespectful.

We had so much fun here! We walked in late and the staff was kind and welcoming. The food was outstanding and drinks were delicious! Thank you for your warm hospitality...!!

We went to this restaurant for our last dinner in Kyoto as it was close to our ryokan and following TripAdvisor's reviews. We weren't disappointed as we absolutely loved the food and the service. The Wagyo beef was melting in our mouths and the fries and the salad were just perfect and all, with a v...ery affordable price...The staff was friendly, caring and helpful with a good English on top of their English menu. They also have some nice and original Cocktails. Our last dinner was much better than our first one where we paid 22000yen for 2 for a called "best" japanese beef set menu and it was really average... I don't write quite often reviews but this restaurant worth it and you will be very happy if you also miss a little bit salads, fries but in a Japenese atmosphere. There were mainly Japanese customers in the restaurant and we were the only tourists.

Was on my way to another place from our hotel when we stumbled across this little tucked away hidden gem, and what a find! Great food, atmosphere, variety and taste to boot! Would def recommend this place for a great night!

You won’t find this place advertised - I stumbled upon it by accident while on my way to a different restaurant (where I never made it in the end, but I don’t mind at all). Food (wagyu) is very good. Place is cozy. Guests pretty mixed, mostly locals. Service excellent. Love it when I find these kind... of places by accident!
