SPICE CAFE DIWALI

We were looking for some really good Indian food in Kyoto and we found this gem hidden in the 7th floor of a retail building. Food was delicious! Highly recommend! Didn’t get to take pictures of the food because it was so good. Hehe

Great food.Priced well.Great for vegetarians.Choices are many for non meat eaters.Rice was perfect and the curry very tasty.Not crowded at all but perhaps because it is on the top floor on the Mina building ( next to the Gu store) So it is unnoticeable from the street level.

What a find! Surprisingly good food and well worth the trip to the 7th floor. On holiday from the UK and needed a change from Japanese cuisine. Well worth a visit.

Great food! We had the tadka dal, butter paneer, garlic naan, & a lassi. The butter sauce was one of the best I’ve had. Excellent!

Amazing simple and unpretentious little cafe in the Kyoto CBD on level 7 of the famed, 'The Loft' mall. Discovered it on my first ever trip to Japan, quite randomly for lunch and dropped in after shopping at Uniqlo. The cafe was right at the exit of shopping and facing the top of the escalator. At ...the exit, it was either Italian or Indian, and the rest was history. The first meal was a Chicken Tikka set meal with a simple rich tomato soup starter followed by chicken Tikka, naan and a salad. Perfect balance of flavours with a soothing collection of Bollywood music playing in the background, adding to the ambiance! Been back again multiple times and also during 2018 Japan trip. Visited again this February and manager Tamang was still there. I happened to be there for the first day of a new menu of Biryani rice set meals. I chose Chicken Biryani that came with matching sauces and dips for my extra order of Garlic Naan. Wonderful plethora of flavours again!
