Hiraishi

My wife brought me here as she had tried this place a number of years ago. This is a high quality tempura restaurant and one of the best I have been to. Less than 10 seats in total and highly attentive staff, who are all lovely. They have a (Very) impressive wine selection, all hand picked bottles b...y the chef. We opted for their sake flight instead which was a lot of fun too.

Being lucky we got a seat on short term reservation for Sunday night. We were only five guests at the counter, total capacity is just nine guests. The dinner was just exceptional, the service of the chef, but also the three waitresses who looked after us was just perfect And the Austrian wine we got... to accompany the dinner dud the rest for the experience. It’s just a little hard to find, get up to the floor for a little corridor.

Another excellent tempura experience after the one i had in Tokyo (Ten-ichi). Hiraishi serve only tempura omakase with various dishes including shrimp head, scallop (really good), white fish, shiitake, and sweet potato (best i've ever tasted so far). The restaurant only have 7 seat for each servin...g, give more intimate feeling and although the chef did not speak much English, he always try to explain what is the dishes (include using google translate) and how to eat it best. What i love from the tempura is that the batter is very light, different with the one had in Tokyo. and for some dishes i was being recommended to use only one of the 3 salt provided (normal salt, curry salt and matcha salt). Its been a really great experience, i will come back again when in Osaka
