“Amazing food and experience”
We sat at the counter and relished ten different dishes all served on different dishes, some of which dated to the 11th century. The head chef was extremely nice and engaged with us warmly. You need to book ahead!

“Amazing kaiseki meal”
Truly incredible - our favorite meal of our two week Japan trip. The variety and quality of dishes was top notch. Service was equally good. Staff was excellent despite our lack of Japanese language skills. Favorite courses included a combination fish cake/mushroom course and the Akagai (ark shell cr...ab). Highly recommend!

“Exquisite yet relaxed”
Wow, this is not just food but art! Amazing. Took my Korean parents and 12 year old daughter. We were a bit flustered at first having gotten a bit lost finding our way there, with my daughter being a bit cranky to start off with as she was finding it all very strange! But the chef and his team wer...e so calm, friendly and nice and soon we were settled in and this will be a meal to be remembered. We are big foodies and we have been to other Michelin starred restaurants around the world but the cuisine here is a totally unique experience. Everything was so fresh and carefully put together yet allowing the high quality of the ingredients to speak for itself. The sheer skill in making it look so beautiful yet so natural and simple and having the flavours do all the talking rather than lathering it with sauces and condiments shows this is work of a master. Yet they were so friendly and did their best to make us feel comfortable. Highly recommend.

“Kaiseki in Kyoto”
Godan Miyazawa in Kyoto was recommended by a friend. I was amazed by the top-quality kaiseki dining experience. The chefs create a seasonal menu using the freshest ingredients, with highlights like baked sesame tofu and perfectly steamed rice. For anyone looking to enjoy authentic Kyoto cuisine wi...th a modern twist, Godan Miyazawa is a great choice.

“Almost theatre and gastronomic delight”
We went to the branch of Satoshi Touyou's outstanding restaurant on Higashinotouin Street, in Kyoto. The chef was fascinating to watch and the food was so beautiful you didn't want to eat it. We felt that we were at a theater performance, as did the others guests seated at the bar with us, who wer...e primarily Japanese but, like me, one couple were foreigners. Everyone was nearly speechless with the experience and the interaction with the chef added greatly to our supreme satisfaction.
