“Not worth the time! Rare bad meal in Japan.. and this is one of the very few.”

I have had many amazing omakase meals in Japan and this was my first so-so experience. Food was mediocre and like what other reviews mentioned - it’s over-priced for the quality of fish we were given. The dinner menu price was ¥24200 for 8 dishes, 10 sushi, egg, soup, fruit) and some had to pay 10%... more if booking made online (which is targeting non-Japanese as their Japanese website didn’t mention the same). See photo of all the dishes we got. We booked their first seating at 7pm nearly 1 month ago and when we arrived on-time, reception told us the booking was made for 8:30pm as their 7pm was booked out (later chef told us the big party booked last week, which made us think why we got bumped out). The booking was made thru a Japanese friend, whom has been our Japan concierge desk for years and never once messed up any of our requests. Yet somehow the time was wrong and we still don’t know how it got messed up. We had to accept it as we came all the way already. The restaurant was so empty during our seating. We ended up being their only customers for the second seating. We felt that chef was rushing the food onto us and many dishes already made and set aside before we swallowed down the previous piece. We also made notes on our dietary requirement - no shiny fish (again my friend never once messed up before) but chef said he didn’t receive the request. At the end, he just took away that piece of fish and not mentioned what he can offer us with. We counted the total # and we only got served 9 pieces of sushi (not 10 - which was stated on their website). We didn’t verify with chef as 1) we don’t speak Japanese 2) we felt the pressure to finish up and go 3) they almost finish up washing their kitchen already so not sure what they can offer us at all 4) we were so disappointed getting average fish on the table so no point stuffing one more. We left the restaurant feeling a waste of our 1.5 hour time (for the first time). Food was quality and none of the dishes gave us a wow factor. The worst was the roll. The chef just scooped the shredded radish off our serving plate and squeeze some plum sauce to serve it back to us. I was shocked because I have already started eating them as starter and if he was doing that for all other customers, the saliva gets in his hand! I don’t know if this was because no other customer sees him. I see other review that they were at least cucumber roll but never had an experience that they would take food back after serving them to you. It does feel like they had this strong “cost saving mindset”. I rarely write immediate food reviews but I want to share my experience. As a frequent traveler to Japan, the feeling of being cheated is rare. A bad dining experience with omakase is also rare and I was a small size lady and I have to say I was already hungry by the time we taxi back to hotel. I do understand they have the new shop opened and the owner was not there on the day of our visit. But keeping quality is a minimal respect to customers. I have really regretted coming here when there are many great omakase options out there. I saw the more recent reviews that were bad but I thought they were single incidence. But experiencing it myself had made me think that I shld really do my due diligence and update my restaurant bucket list because quality do change overtime.

“Not Worth It, Save Your Money to Other Restaurants”

I found this so-called Michelin one-star restaurant on Google. I was full of expectations before I went there - heard that their seafood are fresh and worthy. My friend and I had lots of Omakase meals before and this is the first time we felt so disappointed. Service - Not inviting. The core chi...ef looked arrogant and only served the locals instead of the visitors. When we asked for the type of fish, he was annoyed and mocked us for not knowing the fish name. Food - Not WORYH the price! We were served sashimi and sushi like Mackerel and Satin fish. It is not fresh and why did they serve cheap non-fancy fish like these? No Toro was served as well but only a basic tuna which is not surprising. We were 'amazed' that even the local market - Muji was selling better quality of sashimi than this restaurant. Dessert - Come on, please make your sweet egg desert better. What a pricey and disappointing meal.

“Mediocre Meal”

Not really worth the price. They are few dishes and there isn’t anything special with the dishes. The service was quite poor, and it was noticeable that the head chef rather serve the locals. However, one chef did say the dish names in English.

That is a small Japanese sushi restaurant, when you get inside the staff very helpful to show you the way to the table. In the restaurant have a long sushi bar, you can see the chef how to make the food it just like a presentation. Since we made a reservation in advance, we order a set dinner for ...2 person, all the people came in with reservation, recommend reservation instead walk in. The food very good and delicious, chef we explain the food when he place on your dish. Total around 20 dish we have. This restaurant well deserved Michelin star award.

The restaurant is tidy and clean. Lady lunch course contains 10 piece of omakase onigiri at 3,800JPY which is very cheap. I took the 16 pieces course 10,800JPY Not very fancy fish but of a decent quality. Worth the price. Rice are not too sour.
