“You’ll Get a Table & that’s Not Easy in Kyoto”
We found this food hall place as a last resort; Kyoto simply does not have the infrastructure to support 2023 tourist volumes. The restaurants are all packed and the streets are full of people. On a Saturday night the town appears overwhelmed…and not in a good way. As with most food halls, Harrods i...ncluded, the atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. We were happy just to have found a table in Kyoto at 6:30pm so expectations were pretty low. They did a nice job. Service was quick. Beer only no wine. The rice filled omelet with duck on the side was nice pairing with the beer. There are several restaurants in this Food Hall so don’t get lost in having ones dinner in a suburban mall food court. There no KYC on this floor. Just think of it as a hidden Harrods (that’s a bit of a stretch) and enjoy your supper. It was 20% of what we paid the night prior in tourist lane.

“Original taste of Omurice Legend”
When I walked in Kyoto at noon and was hungry. I thought of the first omurice restaurant in Japan and searched the nearest branch. After ordering seafood fried rice and fried rice with curry, I found the difference from what I had eaten. The food style and taste was unique. Both were well cooked. Af...ter opening the wrapped egg, I got fragrance of the food first and found a lot of seafood. Spices in the curry was fragrant. The food tasted great as outstanding Omurice restaurant.

“Omurice in Kyoto”
Located within floor of restaurants in OIOI Dept store Kyoto, we had good quality Omurice. This is one of the two original restaurants that made this dish famous in Japan. Now operating in several occasions, you can order a large carte or set meals. You can also see through the kitchen and see how t...he omurice is made. Worth the visit.
