Mugaru

This restaurant has some really good Indian food and staff was amazing. My wife is vegetarian so we’re happy to find vegetarian food during our trip. Would recommend this place for a more formal dinner experience

Can you believe? Two out of four nights in Kyoto we enjoyed our dinner at Mughal. The food is absolutely excellent. The service and hospitality was admirable. We had a great chat with the owner, Yukihide Hirata and his Indian chef as well as Indian staff. At end of an exhausting day (walking an...d sight-seeing) a yummy Indian meal was a treat to senses.

I never leave reviews but this was honestly crazy. We showed up at 5pm (right when they open for dinner) and asked for a table. The restaurant was completely empty. We said we didn’t have a reservation and he said we are full and literally closed the door in our face. I totally understand a restaura...nt having reservations (even if they aren’t there yet) but closing the door in our face was wild.

Old school Inndian situated on 1st floor. Dont expect flash, but just an honest restaurant.Food was very high quality, service delightful, and excellent value would recommend

Food was good. Service not so great.I ordered the set including 3 small portions of curry + nan bread,rice ,salad, samosa ,condiments and raita.Chai or coffee were included too.Meal was around 3000 JY so not so cheap.I asked to have a regular tea instead of the two offered beverages but was refused....Not very welcoming :( The restaurant should consider that some costumers do not drink coffee at night time nor do theyconsume milk as rule( Chai has milk in it) This leaves no option if the restaurant refuses to serve tea instead.
