This place was recommended to us so we tried it. Pretty pretentious, this is true and what is it with only playing the Beatles? But the food was good and the service was ok. We were there when they opened so we had no problems.

We made a reservation 3 days in advance and when we arrived ar the restaurant they claimed we had cancelled it. No explanation except to apologize. They said they remembered us calling and had no idea how it got cancelled. They were absolutely unwilling to accommodate us. The good news is we walked ...around the corner and found a small local restaurant that took us in. We cannot rate the food since we did not eat. Very rude.

Hidden away off the beaten track, well worth the find. Instantly walked into a welcoming modern timber interior with smoked filled outlook (from the delicious food) and friendly staff. Loved sitting at the bar seeing all the action first hand. Ordered our tasty treats by pointing out the dishes bein...g prepared - all looked amazing made with meticulous care and dedication... A must in Kyoto for foodies out there.. !

From the beginning this place was as pretentious as it appeared. Young, hip staff, a wine list promising quality Italian and French choices and Japanese style small portion BBQ skewers tapas (yakatori). The service was relatively gruff (for Japan), the portions tiny, and the red wine served at beer ...temperature, overpriced, and tasted like it had been opened days ago. To be fair, if you ordered a couple of minced chicken and raw yolk skewers and a draft beer you"d walk out contented. But there are hundreds of places where money could be better spent.

They shouldn't change a thing! What a great place! Best if you can sit downstairs to be able to see them cook. We enjoyed nice yakitoris, vegetables. But also possible to eat risotto, pizza, noodles. Everything is made before you! They have an english menu.
