“Tasty Eats”
This izakaya specializes in yakitori but also offers pretty good prawn mayo (tempura shrimp with Japanese mayo) and good salads. As with many izakayas, be prepared to face cigarette smoke now and then. It's located in an arcade close to the train station.

“Dinner at the izakaya”
Nice place with many different dishes to choose from in front of a cold beer. It's like a pub where people gather to drink and chat. It's an easy place to go that you can enjoy.

“Amazing food with very amazing beer”
This izakaya (Japanese style bar) is a 3 min walk from the main train station, down the undercover shopping street that runs parallel to the Main Street, Otemae St. You can sit at the bar or else they have the traditional booth-like seating which makes it really cosy. It's pretty large by Japanese ...standards - seating 62. There is an English menu, which is great and the quality of the dishes was amazing! The dishes are small, designed so you order lots of different things, with the focus on local food. We had a baked Japanese scallop croquette, Hokkaido mackerel, hokkai carpaccio with Salmon and Scallop and some sashimi, and it was all delicious! Paired with some amazing Asahi beer and it was a really awesome dinner!
