“Brilliant meal”
Maybe it’s changed post lockdown as we had a great meal here with delicious chicken and vegetarian dishes- the best veggie food we’ve had in Japan in fact! Tempura was perfect and miso aubergine and fried chicken too. Lovely service and English menu

“One of the worst meals in japan, good wine though!”
Awful selection, bad choice of dishes, badly cooked.. only way to order for westerners is photos and they don’t resemble what you end up getting.. if you fancy deep fried chicken cartilage or pork off cuts drenched in oil please go ahead.. Service was decent, though, and the Chilean red wine is good....

“Oh No - Raw Chicken ”
Ordered the teriyaki chicken, took a bite and oh no, raw chicken only particularly cooked!! I agree with other reviews that staff were unfriendly. True that there are seating and tax charges, but this information was written down in English, so we were aware. Be aware that it is a smoking restaurant..., which is not uncommon. Sad to say that this is my first one star rating, but would like to end this review on a good note, the grilled eggplant was delicious!

“Terrible service, sneaky charges”
We had just checked into our hotel and thought we would try this place out as the prices seemed reasonable and frontage looked great. There was no one to greet us when we walked in. We ordered our drinks and they took 15 minutes. The place was virtually empty. We ordered our food, but had to keep p...rompting the waiter to bring them out. He even forgot one of our orders. Food was reasonable. We ordered some more drinks and they never came. When asked, the waiter seemed flustered and didnt seem to know what he was doing. When we got the bill, there were a series of charges that didnt add up. We walked to the cashier with the menu and queried the charges. It seemed like the complimentary entree that we didnt order was not complimentary(900 Yen). They also added 100Y to two other dishes. We said the service was slow and we waited so long for our drinks. The guy shrugged, said he was sorry but didnt seem to care. I have worked hospitality and whilst am understanding, know a sham when I see one. I would avoid this place at all costs. Kyoto has a lot of restaurants and in a competitive environment, I do not see this place lasting long. Avoid, avoid, avoid. There are much better places in the area.

“Slow, expensive and untasty”
It was one of our most terrible experiences in Japan. Service was bad (waitress took ages to take our order, and forgot one dish out of only two!). The food is expensive and not really tasty. Worst of all: you are forced to pay 450JPY/pers for an appetizer you do not order and that is almost nothing... (we thought it was stg free to keep us waiting). Conclusion: don't waste your money and stay out of this place.
