“Great start to Izakaya style kitchen”
This was the first Izakaya style restaurant we visited and loved right away. Easygoing atmosphere, great food and very friendly and considerate people await you here for a fairly priced meal. We will always cherish this first encounter and are very much looking forward to being back in this wondrous... country! Attention: smoking inside is permitted here as in many other Japanese restaurants.

“Conveniently located”
In my opinion, eating in izakayas allow foreigners easy access to local dishes. Gassai, situated along a row of retail shops and eateries near the JR station, serves affordable small orders. The bowl of Himeji oden is delightfully warm on a balmy night; its broth slightly different from its Tokyo an...d Sendai counterparts. The grilled shishamo is fresh and crunch, reminding me of the perks of Himeji having her own port. it was my first time to try black edamame and grilled sting ray fin (hire), and both paired well with beer. About 2000yen per person.
