“Is this the Best Italian restaurant in Kyoto? Probably.”
We passed this gem of a restaurant on a number of occasions and it was always full! We tried to book and on our third attempt we were lucky so brought our Japanese friends here as they lived in the area but had never visited. We were impressed and so were they. A menu in English and Japanese. First... class anti pasta ,wonderful pasta dishes and some of the best grilled meat and little roasted potatoes I’ve eaten in any Italian restaurant. An excellent bottle of Italian wine, and the chef knows how to make a Tiramisu. In all a wonderful meal. We all laughed as it was the first time we had not eaten with chopsticks for a month. If I lived in Kyoto this would be a treat restaurant to remind us of European food. We are now back in Europe but our Japanese friends will certainly be going again.

“Homemade Pasta. YUM!”
So after 10 days in Japan, we were ready for a dinner that wasn’t Japanese. This was a treat. First, I had a real Aperol Spritz. Then beautiful brushetta with basil and tomatoes. A terrific arugula and mushroom salad with Parmesan. But super tagliatelle with anchovy cream sauce. Really glad the six ...of us went. We cleaned our plates!

“Delicious”
Great little place....need to book as limited seating. Our pasta was really tasty served with limitless Parmesan. Friendly waiter who spoke good English.

“Wonderful food.”
We had to book to get in here, as is popular, and for many good reasons. The waiter was really friendly and understood English! (Something we have found to be rare in over 2 weeks in Japan). There is an English menu as well. The food was fresh, with wonderful flavors. Anti pesto to start with and th...en pasta with assorted slow cooked meats in red wine; prosciutto with fig, slowbaked beef. In our well travelled group of 8, all members were very impressed. The drinks were genuine Italian and also very nice. Take note - bring cash to pay.
