“One-Star Michelin and totally worth every penny!”
Definitely the most underrated Michelin Star restaurant. I did my research and found out that this place is favourable among locals. The chef is apparently one of the youngest that got a Michelin star within 2 years! It's really not easy to make a reservation as they speak very little English. We go...t a friend who is staying in Osaka to book it for us. If you want to visit, do get your hotel to book. The lunch set starts from ¥3000, ¥5000 and ¥7000 if I'm not mistaken. I never actually got the right info to begin with - I wanted different sets but I guess my friend pre-booked it at ¥3000, which is fine too because I will DEFINITELY return again!! First of all, the staffs are extremely nice even though they barely even speak English. They were so welcoming, they even helped us with our luggage bags (we just got to Osaka from Kyoto). She wrote on a piece of paper with English words for every dish they served. Absolutely 5 stars service! So for my ¥3000 set 1) Scallops with field mustard, red onion, brussel sprouts, parsley with miso sauce. 2) Lightly torched barracuda and flounder sashimi 3) Clear soup with sea bream, shiitake mushroom, red radish, tofu like food. 4) Yellowtail terikyaki, young burdock, field mustard salad, soybean, tempura - lotus root, califlower, cutlass fish, Japanese parsley 5) Rice porridge with pickles 6) Some jelly with matcha biscuits & green tea Not going to elaborate on the food - but everything we had were just unforgettable - the lightly torched sashimi, the super sweet and refreshing soup, the tempura, the dessert. I also notice that their food changes everyday - if you see from Instagram, none of the food are the same. I will definitely return again and recommend this to everybody that I know, their Kappo dishes are marvelous!! Arigatou Chef Tsukasa Yamaguchi!! P/S: Don't get confused with other "Rikyu" - this is the one and only Rikyu located at Kyomachibori.
