“Red Lobster in better in Japan”
Meal: Dinner Day Visited: Saturday Budget: ¥7,000 Closest Station: Universal City Reservation Needed?: Yes Payment: Cash; Credit Kid Friendly?: Yes English Menu?: Yes Brought to Japan during the days of the Bubble Economy, Red Lobster in Japan reminds me of the Red Lobster of my childhood - a fam...ily-friendly restaurant where parents can enjoy a decent cocktail or a glass of wine, kids run around and look at the tank of lobsters, and everyone can enjoy some reasonably-priced seafood.

“A Seafood Experience Indeed”
Red Lobster in Universal Citywalk is located on the top floor near the escalators, which takes you straight to Universal Park in Osaka. In addition, the restaurant's atmosphere is clean and spacious. The menu was filled with delicious seafood items from oysters to lobsters. In addition, I loved how ...Red Lobster actually serves drinks with free refills like Oolong Tea and soda. I ate cheese biscuits, grilled oyster, and shrimp curry (only available during lunchtime) for lunch. The cheese biscuits were nostalgic, tasty, and cheesy. Red Lobster serves 2 cheese biscuits per portion, which is a good size. Eating the grilled oysters, I felt that the grilled oysters could use a bit of salt to enhance the flavor, but I still enjoyed eating the oysters. Finally, the shrimp curry was the best of the two dishes I mentioned. Despite the meal only being available during lunchtime, the shrimp curry melts in my mouth; shrimp, curry, and rice definitely compliment each other. I believe adding cheese as an ingredient for the shrimp curry would make the dish not only mouthwatering for future guests but for making the dish "perfecto". I would recommend to eat in this restaurant during any time before or after heading to Universal Park. However, go during lunch time (before 3 pm I think) if you want to try the shrimp curry.

“Full marks for consistency.”
It has been a good 6 plus years since we have visited this location. This is during the height of the Omicron surge and the recent governmental restrictions. The restaurant is fairly empty. Regardless of location, regardless of country, they do provide a very consistent service and consistent qu...ality. Our steams lobster was as expected, we were very happy. You can't complain about steamed lobster with butter. Hard to mess up. The abalone was just alright. My tomahawk steak was as expected. Properly cooked. It was tasty. I realize the cut itself has a lot of fat so I can't complain about the amount that was unedible. They ran out of their special - only had one, instead of two - so the wife had to have the roast beef with her lobster tail. No complaints. The FIL had the steak and lobster, he enjoyed his as well. Was it the best lobster dinner ever? No. They never are but they are consistent at being decent. Satisfied a craving. Will go back when the craving strikes again.

“Poorly Executed Noble Intention”
When I learnt that the Red Lobster was having a Muslim friendly menu,I was ecstatic! I was looking forward to my visit to the Red Lobster on the eve of the new year. My kids and I were going to be at USJ for the new year count down and we thot a great meal at Red Lobster was gonna seal the deal fir... a spectacular end to 2019. Unfortunately we were served a bad copy if a halal version of a beef bowl! We wanted to order pizza n paella but these were not in the Muslim friendly menu. When we asked the waitress why was that so, she explained to us that the pizza sauce as well as the paella contained pork. We appreciated the waitress’ honesty but we were really disappointed that Red Lobster did not try to expand the menu for the Muslim diners. Unfortunately since the food we ordered did not look appetising, we did not take any photos!
