“Fantastic, friendly experience ”
Our hosts in Nara helped us make reservations at this amazing local favorite for kushiage. Knowing some Japanese is super helpful here, but the chef will do his best to communicate in English if necessary! Reservations are a must. Very friendly, tasty, and reasonably priced (30,000 ¥ for 11 skewers ...plus salad and noodles at the end, a little more for 16 skewers; you can also add a la carte items after the courses). Strongly recommend!

“Bib Gourmand Trail”
We spent our recent trip to Japan exploring its many Bib Gourmand restaurants. This was our second meal in Nara, and our first experience trying kushiage cuisine. Intimate restaurant (only 20 seats) with a welcoming chef who guided us through our 16 courses attentively. A flavorful ride where the... fish was a standout to me. Incredible value. Cash only!

“Dinner with friends”
A real gem. We stopped in after a full day of touring the sites at Nara. The food, the presentation and the atmosphere were the perfect finish to an amazing day. We opted for the 16 item set meal and never looked back. One of our best meals in Japan.
