Shimizu

This was one of my favorite experiences in Japan! Let me put this in perspective too: this comes after dining at Noma’s pop-up in Kyoto. The food was a surprising range of Japanese culinary traditions, including roasted bamboo, soba noodles, and grilled trout. I felt like we experienced dishes th...at we wouldn’t normally find in Japanese restaurants in the United States. We loved the presentation too. We couldn’t help but be charmed by the chef and owner who made sure we had a great time. Price-wise, this is one of the best values in the city. Michelin should give this place another star!
