Iwamoto

I made a reservation for dinner through 一休 Ikyu. Having tried Kaiseki dinner in Kyoto many times, I find the one served by Mr Iwamoto to be the best. He served every dish, which was all very fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, in an utmost delicate manner. It was a pity that I didn’t spea...k Japanese, but Mr Iwamoto tried his very best to explain and talk to me in English. Thank you so much Mr Iwamoto for the amazing dining experience. I loved everything, especially the snapper rice! I would suggest all those who want good kaiseki cuisine forget all those big names and just come here and I guarantee you will not regret.

Recommended by my Airbnb host. He used to work with the master chef. Reasonable pricing with fantastic food, and service. Love the presentation and freshness of the food. The owner/ manager went extra miles to help us coz he doesn't speak much English. He has a little dictionary with different ingre...dients picture in it, and he would carry the dictionary and explained what was in our food. Also little details like he will chill the towels and spoons/ forks for hot food, and warm the plates for hot food. Also, ceramics here is very beautiful too. Highly recommend this place if you are in town. The location here is not correct. We found this place with a picture uploaded by another customer.

We had dine here twice; first just us as a couple with our young daughter (2 years old) and second time, we brought our friends along. Reasons why we loved this place was, not only they serve very delicious, well prepared cuisine, very quality food, the owner cum chef and his family are very hospita...ble. Every dishes was well made and given a lot of effort preparing. The Senior Iwamoto-san himself also took time to explain every single dishes in ways that he can try to make us understand. Since there were 7 of us during this trip, we called ahead to make reservation and were given a room just for us upstairs.
