“Amazing Margherita in the Heart of Osaka”
About four years ago, my favorite Osaka pizzeria closed down, leaving me without a decent option. Everything else was too expensive, too mediocre, or too far. Finally, I've found a place that makes an incredible pizza margherita at a good price. They use a wood-burning pizza stove, make everything... from scratch, and come out with a margherita that melts in your mouth. It takes approximately 12 seconds to get from out of the stove to your table. They have olive oil with a hint of hot pepper at your table that goes perfectly with it. Add onto that some nice wine choices, slightly spicy chicken wings, and an amazing green tea tart to finish your meal with, and this place is as close to perfect as you can get.

“Lovely Italian for a break from Japanese food”
Half way through our trip to Japan we felt like a change from the usual sushi / tempura / teppan-yaki / rice routine and we stumbled across this remarkable Italian establishment in the middle of Osaka's answer to Shoreditch. They have a proper wood fired oven and the pizzas are really authentically ...Italian. It looks like a real laid back yet trendy neighbourhood place with young families and Japanese hipsters. The food put a smile on our faces.
