“Whispers of Italy in an Osaka Alley: a Hidden Culinary Treasure”
Tucked away in a quiet, lantern-lit alley just beyond the vibrant chaos of Dotonbori lies one of Osaka's best kept secrets. A small Japanese Italian wine bar and eatery that feels like stepping into a dream. The soft hum of jazz and warm greeting of the owner Masato Inoue feels both cozy and refined.... We came here by accident on a Thursday for a glass of wine, and returned two nights later for one of the finest Italian meals of our lives. The wine and menu are curated with obvious care and expertise. Whether you are a traveler seeking an escape from the crowds, or a local in search of something quietly extraordinary, this spot is an absolute must. We will certainly be back on our future travels to Osaka! Thank you Masato-san for such a special experience and memory.

“AMAZING WINE BAR!!!”
We came across this bar while walking through Dotonbori. It is a bar with maybe 8 seats at the bar and a restaurant. The wine selection is very good. I had one wine from Moldova, one from Romania and one sparkling wine from Kyoto, all of them were fantastic. The atmosphere was nice, very good music.... But the highlight of our experience at the cute bar was Masato. He was just amazing and friendly. His hospitality was beyond words can describe. Okini Masato, I wish nothing but success coming your way!

“Read this if you like wine”
We had a great time to end our night at this cozy wine bar located in Hozenji, near Namba. The bartender, Masato, is skilled in conversation and English, and made us feel right at home. He recommended fantastic wines, served us some delicious cheese, and even shared some of his expert knowledge (did... you know that Kobe beef goes better with an aged white wine than a red?) They also have a restaurant, which we will be looking to visit next time we’re around! Thanks Masato!

“Comfy little bar with an extravagant atmosphere”
I found this bar on accident whilst trying to find a relaxing place to drink, after dinner. It is easily located outside of the busy streets of Dotonbori, giving it a familiar and unassuming character from outside. Once upstairs, you will be received by the owner, a very welcoming waiter who is happ...y to attune to your specific tastes. As a tourist, I was very happy to converse here on a lonely night, but I recommend it to anyone going with friend or partner!

“A great find in Osaka”
Kalkos is a fun wine bar located on a side street in Osaka's Dotonburi district. It is not easy to find (on the second floor) but is worth the search. To be truthful they were fully booked when we went so we cannot comment on the food but we had a great time with Inoue-san at the bar. He is the owne...r and sommelier so we had a chance to discuss wines (particularly French wines where he has been to the vineyards several times). We had a few glasses and a great chat. The wine list is fantastic with many special bottles. If you want to escape the madness of Dotonburi for an hour or two (or five) this is a great stop.
