Kushiyamonogatari premium Umedayodobashi

This place is all you can eat and the nature of the food is essentially fry-your-own-kushiyaki. You batter, crumb and fry your own skewers at the table for a set fee and limited time. It's fun but probably wouldn't eat it day in day out as it's a lot of oil to be eating.

What an invite to gluttony. .. but what a fun way to end our time in Osaka. You select skewers with a range of meats and vegetables then deep fry them in the small vat set into your table. Then comes the desert bar - sensational. The only negative that all the berries, mango, kiwifruit etc were froz...en with the mango being quite tasteless and the kiwifruit having a nasty aftertaste.

Every time I come to Japan, I will look for this chain restaurant. It's the fifth time I come here. Shabushabu, sukiyaki or yakiniku buffet is easy to find, but it's not common to have the deep fried skewer buffet in the home country. The quality of food is good, lots of choices. It's normally... 100 yen to 200 yen in a restaurant. We paid 8500yen for 3 adult & 1 kids dinner with free flow of soft drink. We ate more than 170 skewer. They have salad, cook dish, dessert & ice cream. It's really worth the money. My kids like it so much since they were young. It's fun for them to make the deep fried themselves using the batter & breadcrumb. They are asking me to go again before we leave Japan this trip. Jus to note that there is a time limit of 90 mins. Need to be quick to fry & eat.

Wow cook your own kushikatsuu, is there no limit to Japanese creativity? What a fabulous idea, the food was plentiful and was always available, best of all there was okra which is one of my favourite vegetables, nice sauces were available too. This is one of those places you will eat until you canno...t move, the problem is getting home with a full stomach. I enjoyed myself and its places like this that bring me back to Japan.

We ate here twice in different cities. Silly really as they were exactly the same. A fun, novelty idea which is probably why we went twice, but so greasy and so bad for you! The food was yummy and the idea of cooking in your own mini deep fat fryer was great fun. There was a big variety of items and... English labels on everything. Tens of different meat/veg items and a few random things thrown in as well. The dessert and side dishes were a good touch which meant lots of variety could be had – definitely try it but you may regret going more than once!
