I have dined at hundreds of the highest ranked/finest/Michelin Star restaurants on this earth through my 60 years of life, but NEVER have I been so humiliated, angered, shocked and disgusted by a high profile restaurant more than that of Tanpopo in Osaka. My dining experience will forever be tainte...d by the staff's nerve, gumption and pettiness to charge me 3,850 yen--$25.76--for a glass of orange juice. Are you kidding me?!! I prepaid $315.00 for a 7-course Amazake meal. My daughter merely asked for a refill of her orange juice glass and I would have gladly paid $5.00 for the ancillary order which is still highway robbery. But $25.76? WTF!!! Employees of Tanpopo you should be ASHAMED to charge me or anybody that much for a glass of orange juice! The meal was completely ruined by their pettiness. They could have even let it go and NOT charged me given the fact you are ranked as a Michelin restaurant after all and raked in plenty of profits. I am still fuming and it happened less than an hour ago. I hope your business goes to hell in a hand basket.

Three of us (two adults and one 12 year old) booked through the Michelin Guide / Omakase website for the dinner on the Chef's Omakase menu. My wife has been feeling a little unwell, so she ate less than the full portions - the menu was well balanced and the left food was no indication of the cooking... at all Overall - exactly as expected from a Michelin Bib Gourmand - tight team, menu, fair price, fun ambience & personal service...with a few touches of brilliance Positives - - Selected dishes covered both the essentials for an Osaka trip , such as teppanyaki beef and okonomiyaki pancake, to delightful innovations such as asparagus in aspic - Close, personal service from the team and chef - with both excellent English and Japanese (which made me want to practice my Japanese even more) - Easy to get to location and lovely ambience - Fair price for Japan (which means excellent price for Europe) Negatives - can't think of any - would go again

We had a traditional teppanjaki dinner with family. We had wagu beef filee, fried noodels with pork and okonomyaki with seafood. Food was really good, especially we enjoyed the beef. Service was excellent. We had a private room to enjoy dinner.
