“Lovely evening with delicious kaiseki”
When making our reservations, we asked for heart healthy meal. And so, we enjoyed a wonderful heart healthy kaiseki meal at Izuyasu. The whole evening was lovely. The ryokan is historic. The owner is the chef. Yasugiro Sensei is 7th generation owner of the ryokan. After our meal, he showed us ...the family's doll collection which was also a treat.

“One night stay”
Nice ryokan near to Kyoto station. Cozy and great reception. The Onsen is small though but nice to use. We have the Kaizeki and the food is delicious.

“Traditional ryokan, modernised and stylish”
Izuyasu is a traditional ryokan, run by the 7th generation of the family. Refurbished in the last 2 years, Izuyasu is both a traditional and contemporary ryokan. Light in feel, comfort assured, service impeccable. Able to appeal to contemporary travellers and yet service traditional customers as wel...l. The design of the ryokan is exceptional. A good interior garden. Comfortable seating, good lighting. We met there with friends at the counter for a traditional kaiseki dinner. We had a tremendous evening : good food, fine sake, great service, fantastic ambience. As a group we were two Japanese and three non Japanese, and the chef and his assistance explained each stage of the meal perfectly. The kaiseki was both traditional and contemporary - keeping the spirit without compromising it with poor standards or weird combinations. We all look forward to going back to Izuyasu ....but most of all for the hospitality and friendliness of the team.
