“Nice presentation and delicious food”
Deer meat was excellent! Juicy, soft and don't need to use a knife to cut. They serve local and fresh vegetables as well, and they are so tasty! If you have a chance to visit Kaibara, I recommend you to come this restaurant.

“A delicious new culinary experience”
As someone who has never eaten deer before, I was a little nervous about how the food would taste. No worries on that front however, as the meat was tender and delicious, presented first as 3 little nibbles within a tray of 9 appetisers, and then as larger portion for the main. The restaurant itse...lf is built into a quiet backstreet in Kaibara, in an old, beautifully kept Japanese house. We had a view out onto a tangled Japanese garden, and were served by friendly and professional staff. For a taste of something different while travelling, or even if you've eaten deer before, Mujika is definitely worth a visit.

“Rare chance”
As deer meat is not the most popular meat in Japanese restaurants I was very happy to visit one that not only served it up but also in a well presented and balanced way. A well cooked treat with good service, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.

“Amazing experience at a deer-specialized restaurant in Tamba”
Tamba is famous for its locally ranged meat products and fresh vegetables, and Mujika is definitely worth a try when you visit Tamba. I've been there twice now, and the basic lunch set (1680 yen) includes assortment of 9 appetizers, main dish, rice and desert. The place has a very nice old charm as ...the building is about 150 years old with tatami mats and traditional sliding doors. Some waitresses wear casual kimonos, too.
