“Gem we stumbled on….”
Cute little restaurant with English menu on QR code and order on phone. Salmon sashimi was some of the best we’ve had - paired with floral cherry blossom gin or Kirin beer on tap. Complimentary crackers with oyster butter is a nice touch.

“Not bad”
We visited this Izakaya near our hotel which had good online google review as we could not find the izayaka we wanted to go (we had better luck the next day!). We were kind of disappointed - the items we ordered are ok, not spectacular. The oyster Xiao Long Bao was probably worse - skin was tough. T...he staff are friendly to explain to us the Japanese shochu and umeshu drinks.

“Nice Izakaya in Dotonburi / Shinsaibashi district Osaka”
Bal Kitsune is a rather nice small Izakaya ( pub/ restaurant ) in the Dotonburi / Shinsaibashi area of Osaka. One can locate it quite easily with google maps. However, the menu is in Japanese ( their clientele are mainly locals ) and with some help from the staff who speaks only very minimal english..., you can accomplish your food and drinks orders. I had half a dozen fresh oysters to start. This is their speciality. Then small orders of fried chicken, beef, prawns culminating with garlic fried rice. All tasted good. My drink order was sake for the night which matched the food well. I certainly would recommend this Izakaya to all.
