“Interesting and tasty food”
I was here as part of a small group for a conference meal and everyone enjoyed the experience. We had 10 small courses--many involving interesting fish selections. The presentation was lovely and the tastes were subtle but highly varied. The steak course was a memorable non-fish course, but the t...empura mackerel was particularly good, as was the sashimi. We left very full and happy. I can't comment on price but I imagine it is quite pricey--certainly the food quality would warrant that.

“Japanese Ambience”
Haze is pronounced (hah-zay) and is the name of a fish. As might be expected the restaurant specializes in fish of all kinds. If you are a lover of exotic fish, sashimi, roe, etc., then you will really like this food. I am not a lover of exotic fish, which is the reason I ave it a no on one of th...e best meals ever. What Haze has is the complete upscale modernized but classic look and feel of the best Japanese restaurants. It is highly popular with and carries a really good reputation with Japanese people. All the food that was not of the exotic variety was really delicious. So, although I can't say it was one of the best meals I've ever had, it was certainly a very good one. Haze is located in the Kitano district of Kobe. This is mountain side of Naka Yamate Doori (Street).. Kitano is the upscale district of Kobe. The visual esthetics of the shop are really special, from the entrance to the ikebana to the relaxed feel of a Japanese room. The tables had wells, so although we were floor level, our fee could dangle, and we had really nice floor chairs with danish design wood backs. Again, that combination of modern and Japanese elegance. Each china dish is different and again pleasing, visually and tactilely. We were in a special room reserved for a group, so I didn't see the other rooms, but one had the feeling of being the only guests and highly valued ones at that. I recommend it as a really good experience of Japanese aesthetics.
