“I love green tea!”
Shimizu Ippoen cafe in Kyoto is an absolute dessert and drink haven! I can’t get enough of their heavenly treats and refreshing beverages. From their beautifully presented matcha parfaits to their financier, every dessert is a work of art that tastes as good as it looks. The cozy ambiance and attent...ive service make the experience even more enjoyable. If you have a sweet tooth like me, Shimizu Ippoen cafe is a must-visit destination in Kyoto. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

“Finally tried espuma kakigori & my dreams were fulfilled”
I finally had a chance to try the espuma styled matcha kakigori here & all my hopes & dreams for this were realised 😆. Yes, it’s got that matcha bitterness, that’s why you are also given sweetened adzuki & condensed milk to add. The espuma is so smooth. You also get wonderfully chewy shiratama dango... for texture. I highly recommend this dish to any matcha lover when visiting Kyoto (it is a bit of a trek from JR Kyoto, but if you like temple hopping, there are a bunch on the way). They also serve savoury items like tuna chazuke (smelled so good) as well as other delightful matcha based delights.

“Kakigiri Heaven”
I came here for kakigori and was not disappointed, I cannot comment on anything other than the kakigori, but to be honest you'd be crazy to go here and not have it haha.

“NO idea what this place was until we got inside”
Walking back from Tofukuji-temple, this little shop like place got my attention. Through the window, I saw a gigantic ice-cream parfait, and I saw some eating Ochazuke with fish on top of rice. My husband and I were a bit hungry but not that hungry... We decided to have snack at this shop. It turned... out that this was one of those well-known green tea ice cream place. Both of us had small portion of ice cream parfait. They were excellent. They make the ice cream fresh. The next time, I will try a larger size parfait!

“Sweet tea lunch with a high quality ”
Close to a bus stop and on our way back from the Tofukuji temple complex it was about the 5th time we went there... it is a lovely small place with very friendly staff. We had to wait a bit since the popularity went up rapidly and for a good reason! If you like sweet desert like dishes all made with... various kinds of tea you are at THE place. I had a bowl of tuna with rice first which was very tasty. There are just 2 dishes like this, all the rest is more the sweet, tea, ice cream stuff. The ice with a creamy layer of green tea was very good and is a popular dish. Love this place very much! Its just good!
