“Japanese bbq grill.”
Delicious Japanese bbq in Kyoto. Our best meal so far. The beef was amazing and staff so friendly. Sit at counter for good service and help. Try the sake sampler.

“Chef hand-grilled Wagyu beef for us!! 穴場の焼き肉懐石!”
My husband and I live in NYC and visit Kyoto a few times a year. This was our second visit to this restaurant - a hidden, neighborhood place on a residential back street. We sat at the counter and ordered the Wagyu dinner course "Ohmi gyu Kiwami Course", where a very friendly chef personally hand-gr...illed our beef and savory veggies piece-by-piece on a charcoal grill right in front of us. The quality of beef was really high - the restaurant is specialized in Ohmi-gyu (Wagyu from Shiga Pref.) and they know how to prepare the beef quite well. We enjoyed every piece of every kind of beef. They were amazingly tender, juicy and flavorful. We also enjoyed some sake (Try 'Eikun' and 'Tamagawa' ) that went so well with the beef. It was a great Wagyu experience overall and better yet, since this place is not known to many foreign tourists, we could still walk in! This has become one of our favorite restaurants in Kyoto. We will definitely go back when we return to Kyoto later this year! アメリカ(NY)に在住の者です。年に2度ほど帰国し京都に帰省しますが、このレストランには今回夫と2度目の訪問になります。観光客などの多い繁華街から外れていて、河原町より一本東、古くからの住宅やマンションなどが建ち並ぶ、裏道穴場的な静かな場所にあります。 今回もカウンターに座り、お肉の多いほうのディナーコース(近江牛極みコース、8,800円)を頼みました。とても親切で気さくなシェフの方が、私達の目の前にグリルを置いて、丁寧にお肉と野菜を一切れ一切れずつ焼いてくれます。お肉は近江牛が専門で、全てとろけるように美味しく、またお肉によく合うお酒(英勲と玉川)も勧めていただきました。美味しいだけでなく、丁寧なおもてなしをしてくださり、アメリカ人の夫も大喜びでした。こんな優れたお店ですが、まだ多くの観光客には知られていないので、すぐに入れるのも魅力です。また京都に年末に戻ったら、絶対に食べに行きます。ランチは低価格で「牛どん」などがあるようで、今度はランチにも行ってみたいと思います。
